Legions of Lettow website upgrade

We will be performing an upgrade to the website over the weekend (January 21st and January 22nd).

"Quote from Moderator team

Over the weekend you may experience some performance issues with the website as we upgrade the forum software to include some key new features.

We are aiming to keep the website running over the weekend as much as is physically possible but the website may be unavailable at certain points where we need to take it offline but we will try and avoid this where possible.

We apoligise for any inconvience caused and thank you for your patience.

This is not a physical upgrade to the look of the site, this is an upgrade of the infrastructure and one of the main reasons we have held back on implimenting more features as it would be more complex to upgrade the website had we not waited. I can assure you however that we have some big plans for the site as the community continues to grow.

We hope you enjoy patch 1.1 and continue to use these forums and recommend them to your friends and people you meet within the game."

Scheduled Server Maintenance

Bioware will be taking all servers offline from 08:00 - 16:00 GMT on Wednesday 4th January 2012 for scheduled maintenance.

"Quote from Bioware

Hello everyone, we wanted to let you know that we will be performing scheduled maintenance for eight hours on January 4th, 2012 from 2AM CST (12AM PST/3AM EST/8AM GMT/9AM CET) until 10AM CST (8AM PST/11AM EST/4PM GMT/5PM CET. All game servers will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than eight hours, but could be extended.

Generally speaking we are aiming to limit our scheduled maintenance period to once a week, on Tuesdays. However, this week we will perform maintenance on Wednesday due to the New Year's holiday. We are aiming for this weekly maintenance period to take place in an off-peak time for both North American and European players. We are also aiming to inform players of the precise duration of any weekly maintenance period at least 24 hours before the maintenance begins.

For our new players, this weekly maintenance is done in order to make general improvements and to check performance of the game so that we can continue to provide a consistent, quality experience. Quite often (but not always) after a maintenance period there will a patch to download. Please be sure to update your launcher after any maintenance period.

Beginning of a journey

Since Bioware decided not to Implement any official server forums Legionsoflettow.eu was created for that purpose.

"Quote from Allison Berryman

Hi everyone! We wanted to explain a little more about why there aren't currently server forums:

While we absolutely agree that there are some useful threads and discussions that come from server forums, we have decided to not include them in our launch Forums lineup. Partially, this is because we do not feel we could currently provide the high standard of moderation, oversight, and maintenance in each of them that we aim to provide across the Forums.

Another factor is that, after observing server forums for other games, we feel that we can provide places on the Forums for the constructive content that typically comes from them while working to eliminate the extreme negativity of player callouts and other undesirable forum activity that can occur in them.

We now have several areas for guild recruitment and community discussion and organization, which we feel are excellent things that typically end up in server-specific forums. We encourage you to make use of all the Community Forums (especially the Server Event and Check-ins forums) as well as our expanded Guild Hall forums. Though the search feature is currently disabled, once it is restored it will be easy to search for guilds recruiting on your server (and we apologize for the inconvenience in the meantime).

Obviously, this is a decision we can re-evaluate as we receive community feedback, but we do encourage you to try out the sub-forums that we currently have to see if they meet your needs and desires for meeting other players. In the future, we may add additional sub-forums for various topics that require more space. We're always reading feedback and evaluating the needs of the community, and will continue to do so, so please do let us know what suggestions you have to improve the Forums!"

We were founded on 21 December 2011 one day after the official game launch and the goals of these forums are to bring a community together.

I would encourage you to register to these forums and suggest them to your friends.

I personally want to thank everyone who has took the time to browse, register and contribute to these forums, I know this is in the early stages at the moment but as these forums get bigger I will be working harder to improve them.
